Struggling Badly. Please help.

Hello. I really struggling badly with health anxiety. I've been up and down since last June. I've had good days, bad days, good weeks, awful weeks. The last week or so I'm really having issues with worrying about my health, I'm having issues with panic about getting dizzy (it's a real phobia). It's ruining my life, I pick up on any little sensation that doesn't feel right and tell myself that I'm going to get dizzy. I'm so unbelievably lonely, I only have my daughter to talk to but she's getting on with her own life and I don't feel I can keep putting my woes on her. I work full time and care for my elderly mother as well. I'm so very unhappy. I hate my life, it feels like the only reason I'm here is to look after my mum. I don't know what I'm asking and I know nothing will change, but thank you for reading.

have you ever considered speaking with a counselor? Everybody needs somebody to vent to when they’re under such intense anxiety. I was telling my adult daughter the same thing about my anxiety but then I stopped because I saw that it was affecting her and making her worry about me. That’s when I got the counselor. I do that virtually right at home and it really feels good to talk to somebody!

we need to make time for ourselves otherwise our health suffers. Is there anyone who could help you take care of your mother?

practice not telling yourself that you’re going to get dizzy. The more you tell yourself that the more you’re going to get dizzy. Just take one day at a time.

I think seriously about talking to a counselor or therapist who can give you ideas on how to manage everything. Take care

Please reach out and speak with your doctor if you feel like that. Also tell your daughter how you feel. You need a support network out there. Cherrish the time with your mum. God bless.
