Hi Bikerjools49, I am really sorry to hear about your Day, are you there on your own or do you have a friend/Family members there with you? Try and remember that your Body is going through alot at the moment and your Head is bound to be all over the place, things will get better. Try to remember that the anxiety and depression are a symptom of the Battle with Booze, just like a sneeze with a cold, it's just something the body does, try to ride that for a while. I would also advise that you take the Diazepam if you are feeling like this, that is what it is there for. What you are doing is great, but you don't need to punish yourself. Are you seeing any specialists at the moment? Sorry about all the questions, hope you feel better soon, AL.

      Hi bikerjools49

We note from a recent post which you have made to our forum that you may be experiencing thoughts around self-harm. If we have misinterpreted your comments then we apologies for contacting you directly. But if you are having such thoughts then please note that you are not alone in this, and there are people out there that can help.

If you are having these suicidal thoughts then we strongly recommend you speak to someone who may be able to help. The Samaritans offer a safe space where you can talk openly about what you are going through. They can help you explore your options, understand your problems better, or just be there to listen.

Their contact details are on our patient information leaflet here: https://patient.info/health/dealing-with-suicidal-thoughts, which also offers lots of other advice on how you can access the help you may need.

If you are having such thoughts then please do reach out to the team at the Samaritans (or the other people detailed in our leaflet) who will understand what you're going through and will be able to help.

      Kindest regards

      Patient

Well That's a permanent solution to a Temporary Problem. I'm also guessing that you are thinking to much about others and think they are more fragile than they are. I don't know what your relationship with your Son is like but if I were him, I would much rather have a Mother who recognises a problem and is trying hard to make things better, than a Mother that has taken her own Life and left me with so many questions that can never be answered. You don't have to mention the Alcohol at the moment, or you could tell a little white lie about how the Alcohol is making you feel a little better in the here and now, you are aware that it could become a problem. You do need to speak to someone face to face, otherwise things will just go round and round, that's not fair on you. I know it's a Time when you really don't feel like seeing anyone but please, take that first step, you can't bottle this one. x

Excellent reply Postal. Interesting how bikerjools should chat with her son. Very sensible and sensitive for certain. Nothing more to add but The Samaritans are also a good heaven to reach. They can guide and assist you I think. I do wish you all the best. Robin

I know what you mean. I often feel it would do me a favour if the booze meant I just never woke up again. I can’t believe how messed up life has become 😢
