Struggling with life

I am struggling to please everyone around me as well as myself. My parents have high expectations and I can’t be my true self with them that’s why I avoid spending time with them. My mum continuously puts me down to other people and says I’m not a family person and don’t want to spend time with my family. It gets me really depressed. I don’t want to spend time with my family because I either constantly get criticised or get given unsolicited advice on the way I should do something as opposed to how I am doing something. I just want to run away and start over where I don’t know anyone.

My family was the same, although I did not address these problems until I retired, that was to long

I do not know your age of if you have any Siblings.etc.

Family criticism can be destruction, although if done well can be a life changer as we learn from family experiences. You need to consider your age and if your family is generally trying to help you. However if you are getting on a bit, yes take advice, ask for help, the problem is yours, sort it.

In my case it became all encompassing and they decided by the age of ten I was brought up, no matter what I did was wrong, the problem was they knew people I worked with and they would talk out of turn.

My Disability became a sign of weakness and my siblings were also talking out of turn

We retired and moved on, we disappeared, now much happier.

Consider all your options before doing anything to radical, there is only one person who can tell you how you rule your life and that is You, We rise and fall by our own sword

Hello Anonymous321, you are not a looser so why you want to run away from your family...face the situations as a challenge. Avoiding or  to run is not the solution of any problem. Talk to your parents regarding the situation you are going on, may be they better understand and help you to overcome it. Only family love can make the person happy
