Struggling with Reflux medication

Has anyone tried slippery elm or Bi-carb soda or baking soda to ease symptoms? If yes, is it safe in long term use. Thanks in advance.

I have taken slippery elm and find it does help.  Also manuka honey is beneficial as well.  What are your symptoms?

Thanks for replying question. I have reflux, at night though I do everything such as taking Zantac at night, put a high pillow, eat almost nothing which cause me hungry and can't sleep but it doesnt work. I have used Sliipery elm, it works for a while and it stops. What are your symptoms? If you take it how do you take it. I also have heartburn after meals and anytime the heartburn can strike me. Feeling very depressed. I stop alcohol, coffee, spicey food long time ago, eat less, no fizzy drink, no sugar etc.. Still at night wake up with bouts of reflux.

I once combine tablet and slippery elm, works  for a night or so but then stop. Dont know why. It seems bouncing back.

Thi have u tried Gaviscon Advance liquid at bedtime..I was told to take 10 ml every bedtime (also took ppi, H2 blocker and another med. Fixit ..I cant remeber the generic name which helped with peristalsis.

before I went to the gastroenterlolgist I was living on Bi carb soda..1 heaped teaspoonful in about 200 ml of room temp water drunk while still fizzing...sometimes did double doses for relief.. The Gaviscon liquid was better (for me at least)
