Struggling with soup!

Hi everyone
It's Rosie here! I had my band fitted on Satuday so day 4 now! I am finding that even watered down soup and the shakes are too hard to drink ... And tea too - they leave me with a pain in my chest sort of chest bone area ( where the small stomach or band is I'm sure. ).
Clear squash or even jelly is fine ... Is this normal ? I'm worried about moving onto puréed food after 14 days if this is hard how will I manage them ???
Your replies most welcome - thank u
Apart from that I'm doing ok - back at work ( at my home desk ) and pottering ... Sleeping well and wounds seem fine too! Got to change dressings tomorrow ... Prefer not to look really!!!!

really sorry to hear that you are having difficulty with the liquid stage. I'm 7 days post op and only had the pain behind the breastbone on one occasion on day 2. I think I took a rather large gulp of water and had pain for only a few minutes . You band won't be filled yet so there should only be a very slight restriction. It may be that your "pouch" is still swollen which may be the cause of the pain. If it concontinuethen speak with your doctor. Hope you feel better soon 😊😊😊😊😊

I had my band fitted 4 days ago, im getting a bit of pain when sipping fluids mainly about 5 mins after and then I get a gurgling noise.... I feels a bit like hunger pain. Im thinking it may be wind from the op and the healing process.
I hope things go well with you band x

It's reasuring to hear that I'm not alone, thank u.
I've stopped trying to eat soup and the v clear liquids water, squash, jelly seem better but even milk is a struggle so I'm a bit worried about my nutritional intake and I'm feeling quite weak too! Not surprising! Yes I did wonder if it's still a bit of operation wind too causing pressure ...
I'll just be patient I'm sure it will get easier as time passes ..
Hope all goes well for you too
