Sub cutaneous scrotal candida infection

Anyone?

Is it possible to have a scrotal yeast infection where you don't have an identifiable rash? My scrotum looks red to me but doctors don't identify this as candida - it burns and is very unpleasant; I have been diagnosed with chronic prostatitis - I think antibiotics have done me huge damage

u could always buy some antifungal cream and apply that it wont do any harm

Ive had a good go with the creams - made no impact; the infection must be deeper lying

antibiotics are renowned for causing yeast infections i always take probiotics after taking them to balance the yeast back up again ideally u need to see a skin specialist for a proper diagnosis or visit your gp again to find the root cause 9 times out of 10 its the antibiotics

I've been taking high quality probiotic - hasn't saved me though - I saw the GP this morning; thought my scrotum looked perfectly normal; it doesn't feel like it to me..

Because I've been diagnosed with a heavy bacterial growth - enterococcus faecilis - they're saying that I have got to keep taking Amoxicillin - which I can't do because it just makes my condition worse - I'm sure it's a fungal infection of the prostate and taking antibiotic is like pouring petrol on a fire

      Catch 22

I thought it was ok to take them with a gap of a couple of hours - I have 0 confidence in antibiotics for prostatitis - they don't penetrate the gland largely and in the quantities you are supposed to take them yeast infection is all but inevitable - some research suggests that a substantial amount of prostatitis is fungal based; with antibiotics helping it along

no idea on time scales of wen i can take and im funny like that prefer not to mix incase something god aweful happens antibiotics are bad enough at the best of times the ones they keep giving to me seem to have the most aweful side effects like cipro i didnt dare take it in the end one was enough i couldnt continue antibiotics certainly do more harm that good in the long run i think

I like the idea of having whatever protection the probiotics give us as soon as possible - I hate antibiotics - such bad things have happened on them - 30 years ago I was prescribed a load of erythromycin and had 2 anal fissure ops as a direct result; vile stuff just seized me up.

I've read some bad things about CIPRO - what did it do to you?

Good decision - my former acupuncturist said that a friend of hers committed suicide after taking Cipro; turned him into a shuffling wreck - medical people denied everything of course
