Subdural hematoma

my father was admitted to hospital with a chronic subdural hematoma. he was successfully operated through burr hole surgery.

prior to admission he was an active man who went out everyday and played bowls twice a week. however, he is now unable to communicate properly and is suffering delirium. he is in bed all day and has not had a shave or brushed his teeth in a week.

He is currently waiting for a transfer back to his local hospital for ongoing care but i can't help thinking this lack of care is making him worse.

I have explained he doesn't really eat meat and yet his dinner of chicken was on the side. he barely eats or drinks.

what can i do?
