Sudden brief episodes of dizziness - has anyone experienced anything similar?

I've been having some episodes of dizziness that are intense but only last a few seconds.

The best way I can describe it is like vertigo and tunnel vision that builds up over 5 seconds or so then suddenly stops. It seems to happen at random times, often when I go to bed but also in the day when simply sitting at work or watching TV.

This first began suddenly about 6 months back after exercising, I'd come home, showered, sat on the sofa and withing a minute had the first episode. Over the next few weeks it would happen 3 or 4 times a day. Over 6 months this has decreased to around about once per month but I still have a slight dizzy/lightheaded feeling most of the time and frequently get headaches, particularly above the eyes.

I'm 30 years old, fairly active and in good shape. I've had tests to check that I don't have a heart arrhythmia (actually had one of the episodes while recording an ECG but  this showed nothing unusual) and had various blood tests done including anemia and thyroid issues - all of which have come back clear. I've also had my eyes tested which revealed nothing unusual.

My doctor seems to have given up investigating and is now just saying that it will likely resolve itself however I still don't feel normal like before this all started.

Has anyone heard of or had symptoms that match what I'm describing? I really want to know what this could be.

I would suggest to go see a neuro Ent doctor so they can do testing.  I know I needed to wait like 2 months for an appt to see dr and another month to have testing done.

This was an early symptom for me of an auto immune disorder and other symptoms developed along the way after this. Not saying that's what is going on here - many things can cause vertigo. But if you develop other symptoms or are still feeling under the weather ask for blood tests that look at esr crp and ana to see if any of them shed light on your situation. They are not exact tests but can look at underlying issues. In the meantime I hope it does resolve itself. Good luck

Vertigo and dizziness is a symptom. They need to rule out alot if things first. Surprised they didn't do a cat scan and MRI. Rule out more problems. My menieres started like that. Got a few minor things like that just before a bad episode.

I have had episodes of what, I’ve seen on the internet, sescribed as “quick spins.”  I have had other probelms with dizziness and vertigo most of my life and am now dealing with a chronic type of issue.

However, I seem to get these quick apins and have to move my head into a different position to get them to stop. They often happen while I’m sitting.  The episodes became more frequent prior to me having a LONG episode of debilitating vertigo and my current chronic issue. I am still investigating the cause.
