Sudden numbness spreading across body

Hi Iv never posted on anything like this before but I don't seem to be getting anywhere with my family doctor practice.

I'm 24 years old and a female. I have so many symptoms Iv been to the doctor about some of the symptoms separately but I'm starting to think there may be too many to rule out an underlying problem, I have also worried myself by googling symptoms.

My long term symptoms are

I have random bursts of depression to the point where some mornings I wake up and uncontrollably cry for no reason known to me.

Insomnia.

I suffer from anxiety.

Get angry quickly.

I was born with club foot in both feet which are still quite obviously slightly bent and deformed.

Clicking joints (knees, wrists, jaw)

I cannot develop calf muscle and the bottom half of my legs look like another persons compared to my thighs.

I get stiffness in my ankles after being on my feet, activity, after waking up or in the cold.

My hands and below the knee down to my feet are always cold.

Hands/feet go slightly blue/purple in the cold, blotchy red when warm.

Restless leg syndrome.

Random chest pain.

So the new symptoms which have progressively got worse to the point that I'm now worried are

Stiffness/pain in fingers/hands/wrists especially after giving a massage/facial, applying make up, writing, using my phone (Iv recently started evening school to become a make up artist so that's when Iv noticed it more)

Sore lower back.

Difficulty swallowing.

Jaw pain and during this my jaw pops/clicks everytime I open my mouth

Attacks of numbness where an area will start feeling numb and start spreading across my body in seconds until I snap myself out of it (usually at night and when falling asleep)

Numb/tingly feeling on top of the arms, shoulders.

Regularly feeling sick, light headed.

Suddenly forgetting things, unable to finish sentences.

Constantly feeling tired.

Every night I get the numbness in either my arms, legs or back and twitches in my legs.

I'm going to go back to my doctor but Iv been misdiagnosed before and if someone could give me an indication on whether it's likely these could be individual problems or an underlying problem which could explain a lot.

My life is affected daily and I feel helpless.

Thanks for reading my post.

Thanks for replying to me, I feel like it will make a lot of sense to me if it was MS. I'm happy that you've had your diagnosis and have an answer. Hope everything goes well xx

As I was reading Jenny's symptoms I realized almost all of them were exactly like mine. But at first I thought my symptoms were just a few diffrent problems not all together as one. Your not going to belive me when I tell you I can relate to all of these symptoms because I'm 16 and according to my parents " healthy" ql5houghi haven't been to the doctors since I was 7. Anyway getting to my point I knoe what MS is and my best friends mom has it but I didn't know if it could start at an age so young as mine or what I have. Considering you have MS was wondering if you could g8ceme some feedback on if you think I could have it at such a young age or anything really. My symptoms are really close to Jenny's my joints pop up have numbness that spreads all over my body, fatigue, I feel light headed all of the time, tingling throughout my body as well, stiffness and my fingers are cold all the time for a the longest I thought I had low iron but I don't really know yet maybe you could help me out thank you.

Hey so I've been through some similar symptoms recently and am still going through it mine all started back in June and I have been to see specialists and I was in hospital for almost a week and they also thought I had MS and before that they thought I had cancer, then I found out I also had glandular fever for the second time . But then only to find out it was all caused by side effects of the Anti seizure medication I was taking and had been taking for 10 years now! I am still suffering the side effects and have to go back to my neurologist in January as I have started to change medication. I still have so many questions that need to be answered but all I can say is if you are taking any medication check the list of side effects because everything that happened to me was in that list even the numbness and tingling so before you spend thousands of dollars like I did trying to figure out what the hell was going on I would start there 😊

Thanks for your reply, I'm on no medication what so ever, I was taking citolopram for my anxiety a couple of years ago as I didn't feel like they helped, so glad you've got to the bottom of your problem tho! X

keep a daily diary of symptoms as and when they occur and push your GP for a neurologist appt. If it is ms it usually is rrms which means the symptoms come and go RRMS is relapsing remitting MS which is common in women more than men. I would recommend at this stage that you google LDN which is low dose naltraxone which can slow or even stop the symptoms. It will do no harm whether or not you have ms and can be taken with other medication other than opiates.

The important thing is to not let up with your gp until you have a proper dx, many people get fobbed off by gp's even to the point of them saying your imagining the problem so never take  no for an answer It took me 5 years to get diagnosed so I know how frustrating it can get
