Sudden persisting whistling type ringing in one ear

Hi all,

Apparently, I had a sudden blockage in my ear due to excessive ear wax (due to using ear plugs) few days ago for which I visited an ear wax removal specialist. After getting the wax removed through microsuction, I had started getting persisting whistling ringing in my right ear. I believe before getting the wax removed, there was some ringing when the blockage started however it increased after microsuction treatment. I then visited another wax removal specialist as there was some blockage again. I discussed about ringing and I was told to see an audiologist and get some hearing tests. She also said these could be signs of tinnitus.

My symptoms are:

  1. Persisting whistling ringing in right ear, left ear is completely fine.
  2. Hearing a sound in my right ear when spit is swallowed.

My questions are:

  1. What my symptoms suggests?
  2. Would my right ear be fine on its own? Is the ringing temporary?
  3. Before my first wax removal appointment, I had used some cotton buds to understand what is in my ear, could it have caused wax to be further pushed causing this persisting whistling ringing?
  4. Is there anything I could apply in my ears to overcome this problem?
  5. As there was minor ringing during first blockage, could it be that removing the ear wax have increased the ringing?

I am really worried and I need help.

Thank you in advance.
