Sudden Vertigo / Double Vision

A few years ago I was very active on this forum. I had Vestibular Nueritus and it finally subsided after a few months. Fast forward until now and I have been feeling rather off since having to quarantine in the home. I know stress is a trigger for my dizziness. Anyway, two days ago I was looking up at my ceiling and I looked down and the world began to spin. I was alone and I tried walking outside for fresh air but I was stumbling and I felt like I was seeing double I tried to focus on my phone to call my husband but I was seeing two screens. I actually got over to my neighbors and they sat with me for the two minutes or so until the dizziness stopped. Has anyone ever experienced sudden dizzinesss THAT bad? Where you thought you were going to pass out and that you were seeing some things as double? Normally an episode of vertigo for me lasts maybe 30 seconds tops. This lasted about 1-2 minutes in total. Lately my eyes have been acting funny too (I am a glasses wearer) and I have sometimes found it hard to focus. It feels like one of my eyes is weaker than the other and I am recently sensitive to brightness. I am due for a new prescription so I am unsure if these are related or not. Thanks!

problem is Vestibular Neuritis if there is damage to the nerve will act up, either due to stress, being run down, nor sudden weather changes. You could be experiencing some of these issues, even just one of them. Certainly being homebound is stressful, so it does not help. keep doing vestibular exercises and keep moving, and do take care.

Being home is definitely stressing me out! I like my routine. Since this episode I have felt exhausted and weak, worn out and off balance. Was actually scared I had suffered a mild stroke!!! Thanks for your reply. Hoping this time around I am not dizzy for months on end ☹

i have vestibular migraines. going on 2 years of treatment. i have had the real deal vertigo. dizziness ect. i also have experienced what you are describing, i spoke to my doctor when it happened. he said it sounded like visual vertigo. look it up. you should carry mecclizine with you and have it in your home. that helps. my doctor gave me visual exercises to stop it. my eyes are crap now too.
