im not sure if its syphillis because i live in a really hot country and have been tanning the past 2 months- i dont know if this is from the beach or if its an std or is it from shaving and then tanning- irritating my skin. i will go to a clinic to get tested but havent recieved any other symptoms- discharge seems to be normal. the sores are all showing up in sweaty places! please someone help me and tell me what this is i cant sleep at night. i went to a dermatologist and said this could be from the sun. but i still cant understand how this will come out from the sun! looks seriousimageimageimageimageimageimage

    Hi sally,

Some of the lesions in the photos have the appearance of targets (i.e. with a bulls eye in the middle), esp. photos 3, 4, 6. This could be erythema multiforme, which is a hypersensitivity skin eruption in response to infection (herpes especially, streptococcus), drugs and other triggers. A good description of the condition can be found on the Dermnet NZ web site: https://dermnetnz.org/topics/erythema-multiforme/

I suggest you go back to your GP or else see a dermatologist.

If you are worried about syphilis or other STDs, it would be good to get tested. If you live in the UK, you can order an STD self-test kit (Google: NHS UK STD self-test kit).

    Rgds,

    Adhari
