The best person to advise you is your doctor or gynaecologist.  Lots of ladies use vaginal moisturisers or have Vagifem on prescription. Make an appointment to see your doctor or discuss with your practice nurse. Take care.

I was advised sitz baths, loose underware,no soap there, for the outside irritation, people recomended vit e capsules that you puncture, squeeze on your finger and apply. Vit E products are also available for internal use,but I never used them. I was given the ok to use over the counter cortisone ointment 10 for outside area only. Also told I could try Replense. I considered vagifem, but my husband has health issues, and we are older. Sex is painful,so we no longer have it. The vit e on the outside and the sitz baths really helped me. No tight pants. Hope this helps. Also laundry detergent with no dyes or perfumes.

There are a lot of discussions on this forum with women telling their s stories and gigive advice on vaginal atrophy. I am currently in about 4 discussions. I think the conclusion we have all come to is that natural methods such as applying natural oils such as coconut oil or vit e oil and taking sea buckthorn oil can help for a while in the early stage she of atrophy but in the end only HRT will solve the painful sex, daily discomfort / burning and vaginal dryness. Having said that, some women find HRT helps but doesn’t completely rid them of those symptoms and I think the conclusion we have come to there is not to wait until it is too late, when the atrophy is so far advanced that HRT cannot reverse that damage. I myself started on ovestin cream as soon as sex became painful due to the dryness. I didn’t have daily discomfort just painful sex.
