I'm Rajni, a house wife and just recollecting my past experience as following. I got a severe back pain from Aug.-Sep. 2015. Ocassionally, this pain left me uncomfortable to do routine things. The pain got worsed and started making my leg & buttocks with numbness feelings with severe pain, while sitting, sleeping and walking. I had consulted a physiotherapist, who advised me several exercise and for a certain period the pain disaappeared, but again after a while it appeared getting still worsed. I had also consulted Orthopedic doctors, which prescribed me medicines, pain killers and injections, but all in vain. Finally, I was advised to do a MRI to have a quick study and diagnose. And this MRI report left me dishearted as I came to know from the Orthopaedic doctor, that I was suffering from CES and should have a emergency surgery within 24 hours. I agreed to his statement, as, I had no other option to get relief from my pain. After surgery, I was discharged with a tap catheter and for several days, my bladder and bowel functions were not as normal. For almost 6 months, I was advised rest and not to do heavy works. I also need to wear a waist belt. There was no pain (except a slight in the surgery area), but meanwhile I had numbness in buttocks, left leg and private areas. With time, the numbness decreased, but still today, I'm not completely reliefed from numbness in few parts. That was really a worse experience in my life and am much thankful to GOD, who gave me courage to come out from this disaster.

Thanks for sharing your story. I am nearing 3 weeks CES post op, having a herniated disc removed. All my private parts are still numb. (Less numb prior to surgery) I can't seem to find any information on prognosis of regaining complete or partial feeling back. I agree, this has been the worst experience. I just wish I had a time frame. I know they can't predict , it could take weeks months or years. It's a scary feeling.

Hello Tracy, thanks for sharing your post. My Orthopaedic surgeon has suggested me several exercises to get free from the minor pain (if there is any) in surgery area. Also, as a CES surgery distrurbs the natural arrangement of a body system (especially the functioning of nerves from top of brain to bottom of legs) so its really hard to know the receovery time from the numbness that still exists in some parts
