Suffered with ETD for over a year now.

Hi all. I have suffered a lot with my ears since a very young age and had grommets inserted. It was only last year a Doctor told me I have ETD It took many appointments with many different Doctors to finally be referred to a specialist. The specialist has given me a nasal spray to take for three months until I go back to see them, the nasal spray isn't working and is causing some nosebleeds. The symptoms I have are very bad headaches, feeling dizzy or room is spinning, sharp pain mostly in my left ear and only the other day I found a little bit of blood in my left ear. I have had hearing tests that have come back with okay results but every now and then I get a buzzing sensation and like my ear is completely blocked up. I'm feeling very frustrated with it and it is making me feel very low. Just wanted to see if anyone else had similar symptoms and whether anyone had any advice? Thanks for reading.

Hi Lily it sounds like you need to go back to see your ENT ASAP.  Is the buzzing sensation like your ear is completely blocked up, a ringing sound that wears off within about 10 seconds?

Hi and thanks for the reply. I have an appointment booked for April. Yes the sensation lasts for about 10- 30 seconds. It is also painfull to try and unblock my ears or even to blow my nose.

Phone your ENT and let them know what is happening. I am sure they will bring you back in earlier. April is too long to wait.

Sounds like Meniere's disease. Your symptoms sound exactly like that. Google it and read up on it. It's managable, but you first have to identify the problem foods and triggers.
