Suffering cp advised remove splein and part pancreas

Suffered cp with 3 cyst for two years .had a ruptured splenic anuerysm in January had embolisation

Ind hdu for 2 days then sent home

Suffering headaches

Week later back in hospital abnormal blood results

4 days later had ct scan and was sent home

Visited specialist today he advised

Removal of splein and partial removal of pancreas !

Removing pancreas due to a narrowing !

Foreseeing future problems!

As everything apart from headaches is calm at the moment I said I was really worried and would like to wait .

It's a bloody serious operation with no real answers to outcome ,could die or be even worse if possible than before

Has anyone had this op done !

My head is in bits !

    Dear Cliff,

    My heart is with you (not that it will help,) but I had the same discussion with my speciallist and decided at the time to wait . I'm not sure whether I was right as things have got worse, It is serious and like you I'm scared,I had 5 cysts one burst undergoing a biopsy and another one burst recently. I have an appointment on the way soon, I still feel terrified. Please I hope someone can help us both. I am 64 years old I'm thinking of seeing how life is set for me.I am sorry I'm not the one to help.But believe me I feel miserable and in so much pain I pray for both of us Cliff. Thinking of you Corinne.

    Dear cliff, I'm so sorry to hear all this,how you must be worrying. There are a few sites with encouraging tales from survivors of these operations. I hope I'm OK putting them on here.

    Also from this site if you click on pancreas it will direct you to another pancreas site and there's a good number of folk who have had major surgery and doing very well.

    On here its possible to get advice,find someone with similar,and even folk who want to support as pen pals.do give it a go.I'm still trying to get my head round the website,I'm a bit slow on computers. Hope this helps cathy
