Suffering from heavy prolonged bleeding and very painful period. Crying for help!! :(

I have been suffering with heavy bleeding and period pains since 2012. Normally I only have 3 to 5 days bleeding and now it was prolonged to 10 days. It was confirmed that I have two thumbs sized fibroids from my two recent ultrasound procedures. But my doctor doesn't say anything to do nor any plans to help me. Please help me what to do? I would love to have a baby as well but I reckoned this fibroids stopping me to conceive. Please Im crying for help!!! :,(

Hi- I think you should get the fibroids checked out again. My gp was quite relaxed about mine to start and now has grown to 12cm and everyone is like 'why did you leave it so long' - but it wasn't suggested I do any kind to follow up from my gp. Good luck x

Hi ali86305, thanks for your concern. I just don't know what to do. Im not getting any younger that stresses me out in not getting pregnant and the inconvenience of painful symptoms it gives every time I have my periods. I have seen my gp today but not much of help. She just asked me to book a follow up appointment with my fertility specialist which I did and I need to wait for two weeks to speak with them and only available over the phone. I don't know if they really wanted to help me with my supplications.

hi, you need to go back and see another doctor and maybe get an mri to see the exact position of the fibs. Some surgeons do not like to do surgery if you  plan to have children. But there are surgeons that do and really help those that wish to have children. Tell them you want to have to children and ask  if the position they are in will cause issues.

Hi fibroidy, thanks for your kind response. I have a thought of seeing another doctor but the thing is I might undergo again with all the procedures as in back to start again. The hussle of requesting for off to work and another waiting games. Really don't know if my doctor wanted to help or what's not. Im nearly loosing hope and scared of worsening my condition and affect my well being :,(

Thanks gillian60324 for your support, maybe thats what I need to have more further test and referrals from my gp is the key. I need to be more firm in asking referrals to get tested and ask persistently what to do. I feel like I am a pin ball that just bounce but not getting what I want. Thanks again smile

    Hiya

When I first got diagnosed after periods were hit n miss or heavy or miss a month. I was given a Merina coil which did nuthn only stopped my periods but my fibroid grew. I would go and see another Gp and request to see a gyno n express your feelings. Have to keep persisting or they just dismiss how u feel.
