Suffering from vestibular neuritis, is anyone else?

Mine stated with buzzing in my left ear, flilering in the left eye. I'vs had numerous exercises which worked at first but not any more. I feel like I'm walking on sponges and had went to see a physio and she is refering me to a specialist in Birmingham. She said it's the signals in my brain and a lot of things going on. Apparently its trying to compensate for my weak balance system. No one can give me a definite answer and its been going on for 7 years now! Anyone else out there who can relate?

Hey Victoria.. I'm sorry your going through this. I've been dealing with the same issues for the last 6 months. Soon I will get a VEMP test done. Have you done that yet?

Thanks for your reply. I have not had that test done but had multiple tests including mri and ct scans. I told the physio its affecting my whole body, even picking things up and I always feel cold. My hands are also sticky and feels like water is on them. Do you feel like this?

My symptoms are 24/7 dizzy, lightheaded, unbalanced, foggy headed. It all started after a bad sinus cold. Been having headaches everyday too.. The Vemp test I think looks at the inner ear and vestibular nerve in more detail. Appt is on the 28th. I'll let u know how it goes.

He told me to stand on the spot with my eyes closed with my arms out straight march on the spot and count to 30 when I opened my eyes i turned to the left.you should have a go to find out if you have got a weak balance system. Let me know if you try it
