Hi All.

To all those on a sugar / wheat / dairy free diet for LS, can you tell me if it is working for you? Also to what extent are you following it ie. no alcohol? (have read spirts are no sugar) also, things like lactose free cheese, would you eat that? Also bread with sugar beet fibre, would you eat that?? Ta x

Definitely watch those fruits.....some worse than others ...so many loaded with sugar.

Check out the Alkaline/Acidic Food Charts....there are many links on this issue.

Caffeine, alcohol and added sugar I cut out already because of thyroid and especially adrenal glands.  I cannot even have one sip of alcohol or I feel the affect, caffeine makes that I start to shake, and sugar makes that I feel strangely overheated.  Then I was diagnosed with LS and people advised to cut out certain foods.  I was already well on my way.  I'm also gluten free and can't drink milk. The last two help my intestines. Yes, I feel better in general and have more energy.  I cannot yet prove that it helps the LS.  For that I would also have to be totally stress free, but that's not always a choice one has.

I use stevia for something I need to sweeten, which isn't much...I'm not wild about sweets ANYMORE.

You eat something, as you can observe yourself and make the connections between your health/mood and food choices.

Yes, sugar is bad for you.but cutting it out totally could kill you, and it is not good for health
