Suggestions for primary outbreak?

Posted , 3 users are following.

The test results haven't come back yet so I'm not officially diagnosed but I'm pretty sure at this point I'm experiencing a primary outbreak. I literally can no longer count the number of sores popping up, it feels like every hour a few disappear and a few more start appearing, I'm in so much pain I've been crying all day, and I tried to call my doctor between sobs but all she could suggest was Ibuprofen. Does anyone have any suggestions because I am absolutely desperate at this point.

Tea tree oil. Break the sores with a cotton bud and put tea tree oil on them. It's amazing stuff.

Also, the doctor or clinic should've given you aciclovir tablet. They are antivirals which help clear the sores up quickly. Did you not get given these? If not, you can buy them online.

They're not really breakable, they're small and flat like canker sores. But I guess I can try tea tree oil. They put me on Valtrex just in case a day before the sores showed up, but I honestly don't think it's doing anything to help. At all.

Ah right yeah I had the same ones when I first had an outbreak (only ever had the one thank god) I just put the tea tree oil on the ones that I had about 3 times a day. Within a few days, and of course while taking the antivirals aswell, the sores cleared up within a few days. And that was my first ever and only outbreak!!

Since then I've been taking lysine 1000mg every morning. And so far so good. I haven't had another outbreak.

I really hope this helps and I hope your symptoms go soon too :-)

Thanks so much, I'll try it! Also it's just nice to hear people say it gets better, so thanks for that too. ❤️
