Sulfazine and MTX

Posted , 2 users are following.

When I updated my doctor on my visit to the Rheumy I told him Sulfazine had been added into my medications and he said 'instead of the MTX right?'. I said 'no as I understand it as well as the MTX. There was a lot to take in at the meeting. Have I misunderstood? Can you have MTX and Sulfazine? I phoned Friday for clarification but they haven't got back to me and it's MTX day tomorrow 🙈🙈🙈so confused my head is about to pop off!

    Hi Lisa,

Please do not worry. I take both MTX and sulphazine together :-)

Apparently the MTX alone wasn't controlling my inflammation so they also added in Sulphazine. I take 4 tablets daily (including the day of my MTX) I'm certain they will explain it to you again when they get back in contact.

Hope this has helped eased your worry a little. At first I thought it was a lot of tablets but they are helping and fortunately I don't get any side effects from the Sulphazine (other than bright yellow urine....TMI I know!!!)

Hope it works out for you :-) x

Lauren bless you for taking the time to respond. I could hug you! Yes that's what my Rheumy said. Now you've said it I remember. The Sulfazine is for the extra inflammation I'm having. I can take my MTX tomorrow with no worries! You also reminded me about the orange urine which I'd forgotten. Bless you and thank you thank you thank you 😊😊😊☀️☀️☀️
