Summer

Hi, I live in Montana and wonder if the heat and humidity bothers others? I noticed the air conditioner seems to make me have more trouble breathing.

If it's not one thing it's another in my experience:  in these mountains in winter (now) I have trouble with cold air early in the morning & after sunset constricting my breathing:  in the summer it's smoke from bushfires or burnoffs intended to reduce fuel ahead of possible bushfires.

I've always hated humid weather and don't get a lot of it here - can't say I've noticed it giving me trouble breathing.  I don't have aircon - maybe it's making the air too dry?  Or the filters need clearning?

I do know that if I get sloppy about housework, which I've always been anyway) the dust gets to me and I end up with dust mites, which apparently are VERY bad for anyone with COPD.

G'day Jean...It seems that A/C in itself isn't the problem but it could be that it's pumping out cold, dry air which might not be ideal. A decent humidifier could be a good idea ( ask your doc.) Another thing you might consider is having some air-purifying plants in your home. Lots of info available on Google etc.

Hi Jean........I live in Colorado and the heat bothers me.  We have been having abnormal rain for this time of the year.  FINALLY, we are beginning to have sunshine and 90+ degree weather is predicted for the next several days so I will see how THAT affects me!!

The swamp cooler or air conditioner do NOT bother me.  I find that summers do affect me more.
