Sunbeds

Diagnosed last week with PR but probably had it for about 4 weeks. Thought I had ezcema as a result of putting down a new wool carpet ! The bad news is I have a back covered in patches and they are as itchy as hell  The good news is I don't have to rip up the carpet :D

Interested in the comments on sunbeds. Never been on one and at 50 might be thought of as a perv going to a tanning shop. Did any of you say you had PR to those in the shop or did you just sneak in and out ?

I'm trying to keep positive but it's hard. My dad had it when he was about 40 and he is 85 now so I guess I will live through it !

Until my daughter got this illness a couple of months ago I had never been in a sunbed salon. I now take my daughter three times a week. She goes on for six minutes and I wait for her. I have seen both males and females come in and the ages vary greatly. Don't worry about what people think. You know why you are going.

My daughter is now almost completely clear of spots. I would say she had pr for 7 weeks. Weeks one and two only herald patch. Weeks three and four started with mild spots and progressed to severe an stomach and neck, almost reaching her face. By week 5, after a few sunbeds spots were starting to calm down, now week 7 they are hardly noticable.

There is light at the end of the tunnel, she now look very healthy, with a slight tan.

Hope this helps as I have seen how distressing this illness can be when at it's worst.

Thanks for the advice. I'll check out my local tanning shop/salon. If I wear dark glasses they won't recognise me 8)

    Cheers
