Sunbeds - The way to go!!

Hello everyone, I have PR for 4.5weeks now, but it has now pretty much gone. four days ago it was the worst it has been, very red, very itchy all over. I did two sunbeds this weekend three and two days ago for nine minutes a time. Today it has virtually gone. Absolute miracle! It initially reacted quite badly to the UV but calmed down after a few hours each time but has been clearing up amazingly fast ever since. The patches are a little dry an scaly now and I guess it will take a while for my skin to repair itself but there are now only a few red ones left 90% have gone.

I would recommend this treatment to anyone who is as desperate as I was to lick this before Christmas. I am going to do one or two more sunbeds to be sure but it definately works.

Good Luck All!

    Hi Pompey girl

I also firmly believe that the sunbed has been the first thing to fade my PR rash. I have only needed to use it about 3 times and the patches are fading well within 4 weeks. I am trying to convince others that this has been the key but some are sceptical about using them. Its a small price to pay to be able to see your real skin instead of red nasty blotches. Long may our recovery continue. Keep up the healing!! I never thought I would say it through this whole experience, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I absolutely agree. I am totally in the clear now, was diagnosed around the 14th Nov, whole thing lasted prob about 4 weeks (the rash, was feeling ill before then). I had 2 sunbeds, one for 4 mins, and one for 6 (would never normally do this as have fair skin), and I swear this, combined with regular slatherings of aloe vera gel, cleared my rash up. The weekend after I had the 2 sunbeds and started using the gel, the rash literally faded before my eyes!

I'd never normally recommend sundbeds, but in this extenuating circumstances I'd have to say otherwise. As long as you're careful and sensible with the lennght of time you're on there, they seem to really work!

 I have had this horrible horrible never heard of before disease for nearly 3 weeks. Initially I thought it was a reaction to new shower gel etc so threw my christmas goodies out!!! My doctor knew what the condition was as soon as she saw me and precribed me with E45 cream and shower gel and chlorophenmine tablets - non of these have seemed to have any effect whatsoever to this ooooooohhhhhhh so annoying condition. I am constantly itching like crazy and have had sleepless nights for the three weeks. My doctor has today prescribed me with more tablets specifically for the night time itching so I will let you know how I get on!!! I have tried calomine lotion (2 bottles) - which gives some relief but only for a short period, sudacrem which burns and E 45 cream that doesn't help at all!! I am amazed at reading that sunbeds help this condition, and as I used to be a sun worshiper I am more than willing to give this a go! I'm booking one first thing in the morning!!! I will up-date how I get on. GOOD LUCK everyone, its worst condition I have ever had the pleasure of having!!!
