Suppository after Rectocele surgery? Please help!

Posted , 2 users are following.

Day 3 after Cystocyle, rectocele and bladder sling using stomach muscle. I can't go number 2 and I'm in so much pain. I'm not on any narcotics and have tried everything. Can I use a suppository to get relief? My bowels just don't seem to be moving along but I've had 5 meals and my tailbone has a different ache now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

I hope by now you have managed to have a movement.  You should have been given some advice about this when you were discharged from hospital.  Try using a stool softener once a day. I dont know where you are in the world but if in UK then Lactulose is usually recommended once or twice a day.   Its a gentle laxative: a powder that is mixed in water.

Make sure you dont strain when passing a motion.
