Suprapubic Catheter

I am having a suprapubic catheter operation in the near future. I have had problems with my bladder for over 2 years now. I am currently self catheterising 8 times a day. They have told me there is nothing more they can do, and as i am only 25 they have advised me to have a SPC.

I am beyond terriefied of having this done. Can anyone advise me on what post-op pain they had? Is it painful to mover around for the first few days? I know im staying in hospital overnight.

Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I no you said doctors have tried everything i don't know your story nor am i promoting. I just got a interstim for my bladder. Neurogentic bladder due to nerve damage to bladder due to neurofibromatosis. I too cathed 5x or more a day mow i only need to cath if im sick. For some reason the stimm and bein g sick cause symptoms to come back some. Wish you the best of luck.

I had a SPC operation in November 2017. No problems. Did not have any bleeding and pain. I recovered with out any complication. Three months later, i am still doing very well. The key I believe is getting a good experienced Urologist. Discuss your concerns with him/her. It was an out-patient op for me. Hoping for a good result for you.
