Suprapubic catheter advice please

Please can any readers advise me.

5 weeks ago i had my SPC. I'm female. I have a flip flow. Use a bag at night.

Occasionally leak urine from urethra. Have had yellow pus and Crystal like substance from stoma.

My stoma area is so sore and painful. As is The area below in public region. I feel like i have a constant urge to pee. Does this get better? I don't think I can cope with this I am truly struggling. Any advice I really would be grateful Thank you

Have you got an infection?? I would check with yr doctor. You may need antibiotics.

      Hi nicola80508,

Thank you for your reply, so very kind of you.

I have had one course of antibiotics Trimethoprim.

But they've had no effect on the above sadly. X

    Hi

You need to get it checked it might be a infection possibly you will need antibiotics if your having yellow pus

Also let your consultant know you are leaking from urethra you might need a bigger size catheter put in to stop this first get the yellow pus sorted infection can cause pain get yourself checked at A&E if your in so much pain they can prescribe antibiotics

I hope you get better good luck

      Dear isha85685,

      Thank you for your reply.

I've got my first outpatient appointment next week with the continence nurse at the hospital.

As they deal with this regularly I wonder if it's better to stick it out til then, rather than go to A&E ? X
