Since three years ago, I had my first episode of tachicardia that takes me to the ER, then I came back to my home, and in a month it starts again so it take me back to the ER, I had an ablation on february two years ago and it did not work on me, So since then I am afraid to go out alone since i dont know when will be happen again, I feel so tired about this so depressed, and anxiety because it scares me every time that happens, also I experience sometimes pain in my heart, not allways, I take a beta blocker call Metroprolol 25 mg twice a day and it seems control my arrithmia and tachicardia, but not at all, sometimes I feel my heart fluttering, or beating so strong, I am new on the forum, can you answer me if that is normal, I go every two months with my cardiologist so I am under control, but still I feel so sad, I wish this never happened to me.

Has your cardio advised you to have another ablation?

Try not to let it stop you living your life. Believe me, I know how scary it is. I called an ambulance twice when I first started getting SVT's two years ago. I am also on metoprolol and it controls them very well for me. I don't get them very often anymore. I was also very afraid to go anywhere by myself but I finally have gotten over that. In fact, I go to the gym almost daily. I am doing a lot of exercise now. We never know when SVT will strike but we can't stop living. Hugs to you.

SVT is not fun, but don't let it rule your life..I also take metoprolol..try to keep in mind all of the tricks that help to break it to avoid a trip to the ER..do you know your triggers that you should stay away from ie. too much caffeine, spicy foods, dehydration, low potassium, etc..flutterings, strong beats, etc are worrisome but normal..try to relax when it happens..hope this helps!

Yes it helps thanks, I dont drink any soda, caffeine, or anything that will
be dangerous for my heart, I am trying to eat so healthy, is hard because I like italian food, since I am italian, bread, pastas etc, but I
know I can't so I try just to eat like once in a week and spaghetti whole wheat, I think in this forum we have to talk about our experiences that help and understand one to each other symptoms, that way will be better for us understand different symptoms and side effects of the different medicines like Metroprolol, Atenolol etc. Stay well and thanks for your response.

Hey Jeremiah. I've been hereabouts for a good while now so hope I can spot obvious patterns. Ativan is brilliant help when you really need it. But I know from personal experience how addictive it is. If you've been on it for months then please ask your GP about a withdrawal strategy. Take care
ps why are the SMILEY or EMOTICON choices so hard or just plain weird?

Hi I am doing well as far as I take Metroprolol 25 mg, but still some issues sometimes at night I feel my heart beating so strong, nothing compare to tachicardia, but still not normal, so I as soon as I take the
medicine my heart is normal, but if I dont the tachicardias will be back.
And I am trying to see if the doctor recommend me another ablation, the first one did not work. and I am not so young as you are but still I am active and I like music, exercise is good for the heart, I am walking all days with my dog. Thanks for your answer

You're getting some good advice, ema. Lots of us know very much about your thoughts, feelings, hopes, and fears. The probability of your doing very well with SVT is high. Many, many people are now experiencing cures.
Yes, what you're feeling is normal. You are far from alone. We all wish the very best for you, and I'm quite optimistic for you, too.

Lots of folks wanting to help, ema. The "anticipatory" anxiety, for me, has been one of the worst parts of the SVT package. I'm glad you're getting some help with that. I think you're going to do very well.
