Surgeon recommendations

Hi,

I've finally decided, after having bunions for the majority of my life, 33 is now the time to have minimally invasive bunion surgery.

I live in Norfolk, and no where near me does the procedure, so London is the easiest option. Does anyone have any recommendations/experiences of London clinics? I am tempted with the London foot Clinic. Any advice anyone can give me is gratefully received!

Thanks

I live in Australia and have done some checking on this and the European Foot Clinic in Sussex does this. Dr. Dirk Novak is the name of the surgeon, he sounds excellent and does the keyhole procedure. Let me know what you decide as I have considered coming over to U.K. for my bunion operation. This sounds the best op up to now with quick recovery because it is not so invasive.

      Hi,

Yes, definitely sounds like the best op. I think I'm going with mr redfern at the London foot and ankle centre. Won't have it done until autumn though now because I work 6 days a week from April throughout the summer so think I've missed my recovery time. I'll let you know after it's done x

Hi Kate Look forward to hearing from you again after your op. Was Mr Redfern recommended to you and does he do the minimally invasion op?

I have been searching and reading everything I can find on this...yes, he was recommended, and I think he's the right choice for me. It's minimally invasive bunion surgery on both feet. Do they do it anywhere in Australia?

    HI

I went to one of the best orthopedic surgeons in Vancouver. And she told me that she spends most of her time talking people out of getting bunion surgery. I wish I would have done my homeowork before getting my hammertoe fused and bunion surgery. The bunion was fine but the hammertoe is a mess.

She told me that she would have lengthened my calf muscle which was causing my toes to curl. She thinks outside the box. I found her on RateMD.

She had nothing but 5 stars from everyone. Now I know why.

She could operate on my toe so that it would be termed a floating toe as she would have to shorten it. But I'm staying away from surgery.

There are good surgeons out there but you  have to hunt for them.

I suggest to do your homework. Before going under the knife. I wish I would have.
