Without some idea of the relative timing it's hard to say anything. I see it is 9 months since you had bowel surgery - have you had more recently?

I'd have expected it to hit even sooner - but yes, the stress of surgery can upset your PMR status. Your hernia surgery possibly will take a lot longer than you think to recover from - and in the meantime you started to get "back to normal" too soon.

Everyone was telling me to go back to work after three weeks that I would feel better I was pushing myself so much until maybe I figure it out could it be the PMR I took 10 mg today upfront eight I feel better today could you would have acted that fast

Pushing yourself and PMR just don't mix. All those other people don't have PMR on top of surgery. And while you may feel fairly well at hone - doing a full day at work where you can't bale out and rest is a very different matter.

Thank you Eileen it's good to have a friend out there if you've never had PMR you don't know what it feels like I'm going to try to struggle through Christmas with the help of my family and I hope that going to 10 mg of prednisone will get me through thanks again for being there

Eileen I went up from 8 to 10 don't feel any different what do you think about going to 15 for a few days then start going down maybe going up only 2mg wasn't enough your thoughts respect your view

Increasing your pred dose won't make you feel better if you have overdone things - only rest and time will do that. If you still feel unwell you really need to discuss it with your doctor. There probably isn't any harm trying 15mg for a day or two to see if that does make a difference - if it doesn't you can go straight back to your current dose. If it does help you have your answer. A lot of doctors do recommend adding 5mg to the dose where a flare happened - though that is more for a flare that happened due to reducing too far or too fast. If you develop a flare due to overdoing it, as I say, adding pred won't always help.

I can't even imagine going through what you have done without needing a bit more of the magic potion.  I had a much easier time of it last week.  My daughter and partner paid a flying visit and we had a very early Christmas dinner with the rest of the family.  As my son and his partner started hosting Christmas dinner at their place when they bought their house, must be going on for ten years ago, I have not prepared a Christmas dinner since then.  I did pace myself, preparing the more time-consuming vegetables the day before, getting the table as ready as I could considering we have a cat who likes to sit on the table and look out the window....  etc, etc.  It all went well.  People seemed to enjoy themselves and ate plenty.  The next couple of days I did very little and yesterday with a headache and wretched weather I simply goofed off completely.  Feel all the better for it this morning.  I can't imagine having had surgery recently and going to work how hard it must be.  Look after your "spoons".  🎄
