Just for info, following 3 massive bleeds attributable to diverticular disease,I had a sigmoid colectomy. This was 4 weeks ago, in hospital for two nights. Laparoscopic surgery with 3 inch incision for bowel removal. Very Little post op pain,some degree of bowel 'unpredictability' but settling. First major surgery I have ever had but so much easier than I anticipated. Back to work in 10 days.

I have a 10cm stricture because of diverticular disease and I know the consultant is eager NOT to operate. I'm not sure what his plan of action is yet as he's waiting for me to sigmoidoscopy first.
