A consultant  offered me surgery  a little  while  ago  but

he said  he only gave  it a 20/30%   chance  of  it helping  me.

Could  I  have  your  thoughts  on  this  please.    It doesn't  sound

like good  odds to me  for  such a  big operation.

I  would  have  it tomorrow   if I  knew  it would  take   this pain  and

other symptoms  away  !

I have read on here people who have had it done and never looked backed but one or two it hasn't helped. I suppose everyone is different. I think if I was in so much pain and no quality of life I would consider it. But only you can make that decision. I hope this has helped

I was diagnosed in 2004, 2017 has been the worst year 5 attacks in 5 months, saw a specialist on Tuesday and he recommends a sigmoid colon resection., major surgery. My family doctor has said she feels the attacks have been triggered by all the stress I have been going through, foot surgery and more. Seeing her next week to talk about it and get a second opinion, I am scared stiff at the thought of surgery

I can not say this strongly enough so I am going to use all capital letters FIND ANOTHER SURGEON. This is your body, do not take one persons opinion on it. Find the hospital that does the most of these surgeries go there and get a second opinion.
