Surgery and Costochondritis

Hi, has anyone ever had surgery for costochondritis? i.e. cartilage removal or permanent nerve blocks?

I've had this for 7 years (basically my entire 20s!) and I have tried literally everything else!

    Hi Lexi,

My chest pain consultant has told me that he isn't keen to do this for me. He said there are risks and it doesn't last very long, so he wants me to try other less invasive things first

It had been suggested to me by my cardiologist after one of his patients was reporting great results.

    Hope you get some answers.

Hi, I have had costochondritis for many years and have been unable to find a doctor interested in surgery.  I think the reason is,  it would be classified as invasive and at this stage not a great demand hence no surgeon would have experience with this type of surgery.

This is a pity as I have suffered for years and I am sure a surgical procedure would eliminate this problem.
