Surgery done and done here a lil of my experience this far

1st day Tues felt kinda sick before even going in had a real bad headache and was super dehydrated. They gave me pain meds a ton of antibiotics and something to calm my nerves.

So I woke out of recovery felt hardly any pain but assuming this is from the pain meds they gave when I got out and also the locals. When I got home went straight to sleep. So I woke up starving since I wasn't able to eat. Well so that was a sad attempt I couldn't keep anything down. Except liquids so I just stuck to that. Slept all night.

Although I got up numerous times to pee! No pain there.

2nd day- Was a little worse the pain was very manageable although I was super sick couldn't keep anything down again. Was throwing up and super tired slept most the day. Woke tried again at some food. Finally able to keep a lil food down for bout 2 hours then it all came up. Finally at a bowl of cereal and I was able to kee that down. It's looks like my doctor did a great job one thing that was really bother me tho was the packing was hanging out my butt causing it feel uncomfortable, so I pulled out that piece and wow what a relief. Although now that the packing is out it's made swell. But it's really not that bad it feels to me just like my butt is chapped. Went to sleep slept the whole night. Again peeing often.'

3rd day pretty sure the packing came out but not positive if that's what it was. I would rate my pain on a scale of 1/10 today as 3. I had a small bm this morning as I was expecting the most horrible thing ever. Well turns out it was not bad at all a lil sting but that is it. Had a bowl of cereal today and some rice a roni kept it all down thank god. Was totally over the throwing up thing. I've been out of bed able

To move around with out much pain. The thing that hurts me most is pulling yourself up out a chair or changing position then that hurts. Or those muscle spasms that last like a couple secs those suck but very short lived. So so far I'm very happy with having the procedure done not nearly as bad as everyone says it is but also it's effects people differently. What has been helping me sitz baths, ice, fluids, pain meds and lots of laying down(this one is hard for me to do I get so restless) anyways good luck I'll keep you posted everything seems fine now but that can always change. Thanks to this forum it's has helped me alpt

You are lucky Mark. Recovery depends upon how extensive your surgery was. If you have grade 4 haemoroids both internal and prolapsed you would have had a lot more pain. Six weeks on I am still having problems. My anus seems to have shrunk, (scar tissue) my GP said and it is no joke being on two lots of laxatives. Also the pathology report showed precancerous cells were found so I have to be monitored closely now. My surgeon told me that if I hadn't had the opportunity I would probably have had anal cancer in 3-5 years time , so I am glad I had the op .........I think!

It's markee I'm a 34 year old female. They removed 2 large external ones and 2 internal ones. He told he didn't want to take them all out as this could cause what your experiencing the narrow anal canal. Also other problems is what he told me. So he hoping that the stitches and removal of some will hold the rest inside where they bother me and I'm able to manage them with diet excercise etc. I'd imagine if that don't work I will have have another one. Yes that is wonderful that they were able to find it before it has the chance to spread! I'm sorry your experiencing this I hope it will eventually get better! Also praying that I have a good recovering and nothing comes up. It's a scary procedure. But I'll keep you posted. Right now I'm in a lil more then earlier cause I think some of my packing came out and now it's starting to swell some pain is at like 4 but I am on pain med and take laxatives with it in hopes not to get constipated. But so far it manageable. Keep you posted

Alright so it's day 4 post op. Last night was not as pleasant as the previous days. Seemed my bum did a more swelling then before and a lot more of a on fire feeling. I've been using ice religiously helps so much. This morning I woke up and had the overwhelming urge to go to the bathroom within the last hour I have had diarriah the pain is not unbearable but going numerous times hurts and stings and seems to make it swell. Going to sit in the bath today for awhile I think and take it easy. Think I over exerted myself yesterday get up and down so much I just can't stand laying in bed tho. Any that's what going on today. Oh and I have a follow up today with my surgeon see how that goes keep you all posted

No problem. I know it's helps to hear from other people going through the same experience. The procedure itself was easy breezy... I went in 2 hours before. They will have you wash your whole body in a special antibacterial soap to prevent infection. They then have you dress in your gown and will give you a iv. They gave me a few different antibiotics, along with a pain killer and something to calm my nerves. They will wrap your legs in some wraps to keep your blood moving in your body while your under anesthesia. Then then wheeled me memon and I was in recovering quickly. I didn't feel anything straight away I'm assuming because the local was still working and the hard core pain meds they give you.

When I got home the pain was very beatable I'd say it was easily a 3 or 4. My problem was keeping any food down I spent the night throwing up. Then finally fell asleep. The next day was good as well pain was a 3 or 4. Again couldn't keep anything down spent it throwing up. Got up way more then I should have do to being restless. DONT do this lay in bed even if you feel ok getting up moving around. I payed immensely for this last night my butt was so swollen felt like it was on fire. Had me in tears. So my recommendations this far from my experience. Rest as much as you can. Ice is a life saver I use it religiously. Also sitz baths takes the sting away. Take your pain meds as prescribed with stool softener. I thought I'd be ok skipping a dose of my pain meds boy was I wrong. Lots and lots of water. I will keep you posted as I have yet to have a bm. Good luck you'll do great let me know how things go for you and any questions are welcome
