Surgery while on blood thinner

Has anyone had surgery after blood clot and manage blood thinners. I am in a few weeks

    Hi,

    I am on warfarin for life after having an aortic aneurysm and St Judes valve fitted. Some months ago I had a fall and broke my nose after being in hosbital for a few weeks they let me out. They had to stop the warfrin during this time I forget the drug used to stop w. but your doctor will know.  It did take time to get the INR in range.

     I have a mechanical heart valve, and am on warfarin for life. When I had some surgery the warfarin was stopped and Iinjected my stomach with heparin instead. Apparently heparin is reversible whilst warfarin is not.
