I am married to a physician and live in the US. She Is not familiar with that wound care regime.   I had my surgery a couple months ago and with no wound complications it took about 4 weeks for the wound to heal. The dissolving sutures take a while to go away and that caused some discomfort but otherwise was fine.  I had a drain installed during the procedure which was removed around day 4 post op. I was dry in about 48 hours.  But that depends on the type of hydrocele, among many other factors.

Hope my comment was helpful, godspeed on your recovery.

Hey Victor, I had my hydrocelectomy on the 2nd of July, exactly two weeks ago, and am wondering the same thing about my wound.

Some of my stitches at the bottom of the incision came undone approximately one week after surgery. It looks light half of the incision is open. Not bleeding not infected, just open, very strange. I saw my urologist this past Wednesday and he didn't seem concerned and told me the sometimes stitches come undone. I asked him if I should put anything on it, his response, "no." Not at all concerned. He een went as far as saying I can go to the gym, do yard work just not ride a bike and or have sex. I'm usually a quick healer and this wound seems to be taking its time, its a bit frustrating.
