Is it normal for them to leave the surgical clips inside after gb removal. Had mine out 2 years ago. Now have bad pain where the biggest incision was made just of centre to the left

Yes, according to what I read, these surgical clips are left to make sure that a bleeding is under control. This happens when a nearby blood vessels needed to be compressed to avoid internal bleeding after the surgery is done. It can stay forever in your body because the material used for this type of clip is biologically inert which means that it will not evoke a presence of a foreign material in your body.  Simply put—the material use (surgical clip) will not cause any reaction from the person these clips were attached to.  The clip might be applying pressure to a nearby nerve. But it’s been 2 years already, it

could be something else. Consulting a doctor is best because he can request for the appropriate  test to see what’s really causing your pain.

I had gallbladder removed 3 years ago.

To be honest I can't remember but I think they may be disolveable stitches.

They can be clips or staples but, they shouldnt be causing pain...you didnt say how big your incision is...if it was an open procedure(several inches)you could possibly have an incisional hernia(if its small then its not)I would consult a Dr. to be sure the cause & that its temporary or something that might get worse...Best Wishes hopefully it is resolved quickly💟

I would go to the Doctors and get it all checked out.  I had a dreadful unexpected experience when I had my gallbladder removed. Then over a year later I started to be very unwell.  They didn't know what was wrong and I had to have surgery for what was thought to be a post operative mass in the gallbladder area.  So, please do get it checked out.  Issues like these are rare, but when they are happening to you, it's your life and can be very painful and debilitating.  Good luck
