Surgical metal clips coming out tomorrow- does it hurt?

Posted , 12 users are following.

Hello everyone, I’m two weeks post op tomorrow and my numerous clips are being removed.  I have just under 20 in the smaller wound and I reckon about 40-ish in the large one. After all the things associated with my trauma I’m now getting anxious about the clip removal. On a plus note I managed to walk around today using crutches which the physio said was good. Vanessa

To be honest I worked myself up about the removal. To be honest though, the first one did sting a little but the rest were painlessly. Try not to worry too much 😊

    Hello Vanessa,

I had mind out last Wednesday and I was dreading it. It was not painful, most came out fine just felt the odd one sting a bit but certainly not painful. I looked on it as the begining of the healing process.

    Vanessa-

Considering the trauma of major surgery that you endured just two weeks ago, this skin-deep irritation should give you no trouble. At all.

A few may cause a slight sting but no big deal. No power tools will be used 😀

I had staples removed from a different major surgery I had years ago. I didn't hurt at all.  This particular surgery I had dissolvable ones.  But you will be fine - it's not at all painful or scary!  Or at least it wasn't for me so I doubt it will be for you!
