Surprising CT scan finding??

Posted , 1 user is following.

Hi everyone,

Newbie here. On a recent CT scan during an ER visit for abdominal pain, it was discovered that I have a "Prominent myomatous uterus", which I understand is an enlarged uterus with lesions/fibroids (please correct me if wrong). The report went on to say that I have "a 2 cm exophytic submucosal fundal fibroid".

I am having trouble finding information about this specific fibroid finding. Every time I research exophytic and fundal fibroid, I only find info on subserosal fibroids, nothing on a submucosal fibroid with the same presentation. Has anyone heard of this kind of fibroid or this combination of factors (e.g. type and location)? Can a submucosal fibroid grow in this location, or does the report mean subserosal? I'm really struggling to find any info and would appreciate some insight. I really want to wrap my head around this and ER doctors didn't do a good job explaining this. Thank you so much!!
