1 & 2: 37.5 mg triamterene/ 25 mg hydrachlorathiazide, taken once a day.
3: reduced vertigo completely for 7 years. Dosage has never changed. When milder vertigo returned after 7 years, got steroid injections and remained on same dose of diuretic. Went back to having very few episodes and they are mild.
4. reduces ear fullness.
5. does not reduce the normal tinnitus which does get louder before the infrequent episodes. My tinnitus is quite mild, just a buzz.
6 yes, current dosage reduced the sound distortion
The diuretic definitely improved my quality of life. Before I was on it, I had two or three violent vertigo attacks per month lasting 3 to 4 hours, with vomiting over and over. Once on the diuretic, the vertigo attacks ended for years. Then when they came back, they were far less violent and Diazapam taken as soon as symptoms started usually stopped them. I very seldom have any real vertigo anymore.

I am not taking a diuretic and never had. I've been dealing with MD for over 20 years and control it with a very strict diet.

Thank you. I am going to speak with my ENT about this; it may have been missed as an option before I try gentomicin.
