Suspected broken foot?

Hi there,
About a week ago I fell down around 4 stairs and smacked my foot on the side of the wall and on the floor. It instantly swelled on the top part of my foot into a big lump and around the foot was swollen and bruised. I left it overnight and went to A&E (in the UK) where they took one look and decided to do an X-RAY.
Whilst the X-RAY was being done, it took longer than usual and I heard the radiographers chatting about it and they decided to get a second opinion from someone else. They did and then they sent me back to a&e where the doctor said they couldn't find a fracture so gave me some crutches and told me to try walk on it.
This was nearly a week ago, I am signed off work by my normal GP and given painkillers, however, I still can NOT walk on the foot, if so, its on the side of my foot but it really really hurts. It is still swelling up and still bruised, incredibly painful to touch.
The GP says she doesn't think they would of missed a broken bone on the X-RAY but it is so painful and sore I don't know what to do, do I go back to A&E and ask for another X-RAY?
Please can someone give me some advice.
Thank you in advance :-)

From the pictured you posted, your leg seem badly bruised. This is not something to be taken lightly. The painkillers won't help in this situation.. Get someone to help massage with a damped towel. Make sure the water is heated to a boiling point. Then dip the towel inside the hot water.. Squeeze some droplets of water out and place it on the spot where you feel the pain.. It's a natural remedy. It's highly effective.. Do it repeatedly until the hot water turn cold. You'll fill a relief

I broke my foot on Dec 31st 17. By middle of Feb I had had 4 xrays. Finally they did an mri and it showed a crack. Put me in a boot and it started to heal. Still hurts now though and I can't move my toes because of the delay. See if they will scan it. My scan was 7-8 weeks after the accident though.

Hey! Thanks so much for your reply.
Did you go back to the hospital 4 times and each time they said you had nothing wrong? Could you walk?
Did you have to ask for an MRI scan yourself?
I think I am going back to a&e tomorrow morning a week after I hurt my foot so it will be the second time I have gone back...
Hope to hear back from you

A and E once 2 weeks after accident 2 xrays nothing showed.
A and E again 4.5 weeks after accident 2 more xrays nothing showed.
GP same week referred to podiatrist/foot man at local hospital. Appt 6 weeks after accident. Sent for mri. Was told results would take 2 weeks... had a phone call within 24 hours to say it was cracked. Fracture clinic appt given for 10 days later. I rang and pleaded agony and was fitted in after 4 days. Fracture boot given and I had it for 7 weeks. Crutches for those 7 + 4 more once I was out of the boot. Still quite sore 9 months later. Swollen for 5 -6 months. Couldn't really walk for 2 weeks then dosed up and had to walk on it. Used one crutch initially. Couldn't get a shoe on for a while. Still can't walk down stairs one foot after the other because I have lost movement in all but big toe.
Hope this helps. Be persistent.
