SVT ablation in Oklahoma

I have had SVT for 20 years and am now considering an ablation. I live in Oklahoma.  Is there anyone out there that can share your experience and where you had the procedure done.

Hi Judy. I had an ablation about 5 years ago and have not had an SVT episode since, so I would strongly recommend you to have yours. The ablation changed my life so much for the better that I really regret not having it years earlier.

I live in Ireland so cannot comment on Oklahoma, but in a hospital with enough experience of ablations (which I would expect all major USA ones have) then it is a low risk procedure with a high success rate.

They will give you meds to chill out and it will all be over before you know it (I had some dental work done yesterday that was much, much worse than the SVT ablation!).

The most important thing is to trust your cardio specialist. If you do, then you should be reassured that they will only allow the procedure to be carried out by competent people in a safe place. If you do not completely trust your cardio, then I would suggest you keep looking until you find one you do.

Best of luck, and do let us know how you get on.smile

Hello! I live in Oklahoma and had an ablation last July. I found a doctor at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital and her name is Subha Varahan. She was wonderful! I haven't had an SVT attack since, and other than a few skipped beats now and then, I feel pretty good. I highly suggest getting it done.

I live in Oklahoma too and went to the Heart Hospital for my SVT diagnosis.  However, my electrophysiologist didn't  encourage me to get an ablation at all.  I take medication for it and am doing well.  If I ever do have an ablation it will probably be there though.
