SVT and ablation

Hi everyone! I have been diagnosed with SVT at the age of 29. I am now 45 and have been using 300mg of Tambocor since I was diagnosed. My heart rate goes up to 145-160. I had an ablation done on 8 March 2017. I felt wonderful, but since December 2017 I have had the some of the symptoms recurring. Have any of you perhaps had more than one ablation? Would like to know. Thanks for your support!

    Hi

Snap! I was diagnosed at 29, I’m 45 now and had the ablation fir my SVT 3 years ago.

I’ve not had full blown SVT since, mine used to get up to 240 bpm, but I get all kinds of odd stuff still happening.

I get the odd heavy thumps if I’m tired or the day after alcohol. I don’t take any meds now, but sweet food, a big meal and caffeine crack my heart beat up to 100 bpm’s.

Once or twice a year I might feel done skipped beats, but never SVT.

If yours is still cracking up in the 180+’s then a second one makes sense. I know lots of people that have had, two or even three. Same risks as the first and known to happen.

If you’re not getting the fast beats, it could be “normal” and just everything settling down.

    Good luck

    Chris

I had my ablation last June and had a few relatively calm months but it's been back lately. The doctor said I was a very challenging case, due to the location of my issue it was very difficult to get at and he couldn't fully ablate due to how close it was to important areas. Lately I've been in a pattern of ~ 2 weeks of calm spells followed by 2-3 days of frequent but short runs. I'm back to the EP this friday to talk to them and see. I'm sure they'll want to try again, I'm not especially looking forward to going through all that again but I will probably give it another shot and hope the 2nd time is a charm...
