So I have shortness of breath basically everyday. I have Svt but even when my heart rate is normai experience this. Itis very scary and it happens when i do nothing,if i walk a couple steps, if I eat, it used to be when my heart rate was high or low but now it's more frequent. Is this normal for svt to always find it hard to breath?

I experience the same - but I have IST (a type of SVT). Whilst my HR is high all of the time, I have episodes of tachy where my HR will go even higher. Before treatment however, I had shortness of breath every day and struggled with the simple things like small cleaning tasks, having a shower and stairs. I was also really lightheaded.
With IST, your symptoms may not necessarily correlate with your HR so even if your HR is normal, it is still possible to experience symptoms like shortness of breath and lightheadedness. It may be worth doing your research and raising it with your cardio if you feel like it "fits" with what you are experiencing.

Do you experience any heart palpitations? I get shortness of breath whenever I have premature atrial contractions. I have been tested for H. pylori when I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy. I haven't been exercising because of the shortness of breath, but the doctor said it's okay for me to exercise. I don't have any limitations regarding my heart. When I take the trash out, I get shortness of breath. It's so frustrating !

Yes it is frustrating all these symptoms, I am tired about this sickness, I start to pray to God since the doctors can't do anything about it, I had an ablation about three years ago, and still I have palpitations must of the time, the doctor also recommend me to do excersie, I do it sometimes, not allwas I have the same as you shortness of breath, is good for us to talk one to each other so we know that the symptoms are the same and we do not get worry if it is something new or strange, Blessings to everyone.

Thank you, I saw the dr and I don't have asthma and my blood pressure is always low. She is ordering all kinds of test as well as a scope to check out my stomach hopefully we figure this out. Positive thoughts 😊

There's a stress test that calculates how well your heart and lungs are working together. Regular SVT should not cause shortness of breath outside an episode. IST causes shortness of breath precisely because the heart rate rises so fast with exercise but your heart rate remains normal so it can't be IST. Consider doing breathing exercises as they help increase lung capacity and help steady the breathing regardless of what is going on. Good luck getting a diagnosis and an effective treatment plan. Sometimes unususual symptoms require a process of elimination which can be difficult to deal with. My diagnosis of autonomic dysfunction took 3 years, 3 specialists and multiple expensive tests. Can't count the number of times I wore a holter monitor.

No. With SVT the heart is normal and should behave normally when it's not in an actual SVT episode. There should be no shortness of breath at other times. Have a chat to your Dr about it.
