SVT another trip to the Hospital

Hi I have just had my fifth major SVT over the past four years. Mine always starts from bending forward. I was in the shower this time. My pulse was 240 beats and I went to Hospital for the dreaded adenosine, luckily this time I only had the one dose of 6mls. Two years ago I had three injections of 6, 12 and then 18 mls and electric shock treatment was next on the list. I have got high blood pressure as well and take sotolol which has controlled the SVT for the past two years but perhaps I now need a higher dose. Still recovering from my trip to the hospital it tires you out, and am dreading the next SVT. I don't like the idea of the ablation and have not been abroad on Holiday, I would be to scared on the flight

Hi Romy, I also have SVT and just had my second trip to emergency room in three months. I have noticed that at times bending over and picking something up will cause SVT.  This was the worst episode I have had. I kept feeling like I was going to pass out which is extremely scary. I only had one injection of the adenosine, and heartbeat went back to normal in about an hour. It is very scary to live with this condition.

    Hi Romy,

I'm taking a beta blocker and have SVT. I'm 22 and I spent over 16 hours flying between America and Europe.

If your doctor says you can handle it, take a deep breath and go for a trip.
