SVT Failed Ablations

Hi All

I am new here and looking for some advice. I have had SVT for 13 years. I have had two RF ablations and the latest in 2013 a CRYO-Ablation. Last week I collapsed at work with suspected SVT again. Heart rate was only 180 and didnt last very long and once I got to A & E it had stopped (as usual). This attack was precceded for about a week with an unusual amount of PVC's that were disturbing me but just before this latest attack I had a feeling that someone had punched me in the chest as hard as they could. The paramedics asked me if I could feel the PVC's that they were seeing on my ECG in the ambulance and I could. My question is that what are my options now as I have had 3 failed ablations, Im not sure that I want a 4th as they are not working or work for a year or two then it happens all over again, to be honest it is ruining my life (and career) as i am a HGV driver and every time this happens I lose my hgv licence for 6 weeks at a time. Any ideas ? I am going stir crazy, any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi, I have only had this crap SVT for 18 months, for the last six months I have taken my verapamil religiously, changed my diet drastically, eat a few supplements and have had no problem .touch wood --- I chickened out of the ablation. I tried all the ways I read about to get back to normal rhythm- the one that works for me is gettting my whole body rattled - riding my horse  or driving my bike over the fields - the drugs in the ER did nothing, the ambo ride to the big hospital with a lunatic who hit all the potholes and up on 2 wheels and crash down again put me normal on arrival. I am so sorry you are having such a terrible time . . are you overweight? or eating rubbish? Good luck - - jay

      Hi Jay

No I am a healthy weight and eat as healthy as I can. This latest episode was not as bad as previous years but the docs have said it may be early signs of me growing a new pathway (short circuit). Just waiting now to see the specialist again to see what they say. The symptoms are all new which they said to expect as it has probably grown a new short circuit somewhere different which causes new/different symptoms. To be honest I am not confident that another ablation will work and perhaps its time for them to try something different.
