SVT- HOW DO YOU STOP IT ?

Please list here your ways of stopping the SVT and what drugs you use, like Verapamil. They gave me adenosine 2x even tho I have asthma=horrific punch in the back of my head and did no good.                     I have tried= Cold shower.  Jumping hard down and coughing  in time till too tired. .  Riding bike up and down bumpy field. Taking Valuim, lying on left side fetal position with loud music. Crush one extra Verapamil.  Please help, any more methods? Thankyou.

Thanks to all for sharing and for providing possible responses. Experienced SVT for decades. Unsuccessful ablation 2 yrs. ago. More frequent SVT since. Some success with Val Salva over my years, but much more success recently with another breathing technique. Slowly and deeply inhale, hold breath for 20 seconds or so, slowly exhale. This has worked for me both sitting and lying on either side in fetal position. No ER trips since I've used this approach (for a year or so). I'm also much calmer during SVT. I encourage SVT victims to try the various breath altering techniques tossed out onto forums and to be creative. Vagal stimulation can apparently work wonders!

The only thing thats ever worked for me is lying down on my back with my legs up.  I thought this was an odd way to stop it, as doctors always seem suprised that this works for me, but lots of other people on here do it too!  I've had it for over 20 years there has only been one time that it didn't work and I needed the injection to slow it down.  I'm having the operation to hopefully stop it soon

i had the catheter ablation, that did not work for me.  They put me on a beta blocker that made me so nauseated that I could not continue with it.  They then put me on 240 mg of diltiazem (a caclium blocker) that worked great - for a while.  I started having episodes in the evening.  They put me on 120 mg of diltiazem at night and continue the 240 mg in the morning.  That has worked well, but I still get an occasional bouts (usually after I've had caffiene or bend over to pick something up.

What stops it:  coughing will often do stop it, but sometimes, I simply have to lie down quietly on my side.

I drink ice water all day no caffeine no chocolate stay away from tai food or Chinese . The MSG is bad . I stay away from high sodium . I take 1/4 of a bystolic 5mg a day because it drops my pressures down . It keeps the heart rate at a good number . I work out at least three times a week and watch what I eat . I am hoping for the ablation so I can come off meds or hope I do . I have never been so tired in my life . Bearing down is usually an instant relief and ice water to drink and splashed on my face .
