SVT, Sinus arrhythmia Heart Ablation

Posted , 6 users are following.

I have had 3 heart Ablations 2 of which was this month. I have heart rates as high as 168 and now I can feel my heart skipping beats. My doctor wants to do a 4th Ablation and I don’t understand why they don’t just put a pacemaker in. I have as many as 200 episodes in about 2 1/2 weeks since last Ablation. I’m weak all the time and just plain tired of it all now. I’m 44 and feel like I’m 94.

When are you seeing the cardiologist next? Tell him you want a pacemaker. He'll be happier that you've made that decision, rather than him. I find most consultants now go with what the patients wants, if it's an option.

    Good luck.

I feel for you. It cannot be nice.

Hope I hear good news from this.

Hey, thank you for your kind words and understanding. It truly means a lot when I finally have people that totally understand what I am going through physically and emotionally with SVT.

I see my cardiologist and EP doctor in 3 weeks. My visit last week wasn’t not a good one. He stood there reading my loop recorder like he was studying the worst painting he had ever seen trying  to analyze it. After about 10 minuets of silence he told me that my heart has new symptoms (skipping beats a irregular sinus rhythm along with the SVT which usually the highest it has been running was 168 but now is about 190) he said I had to wear another halter monitor for 48 hours along with my loop recorder because he thinks the lower chamber of the heart is the main issue now. I was told by my first cardiologist I needed a pacemaker and I switched because when I met with the surgeon 12 hours later. He asked me why I was there to see him? Then I explained my cardiologist said I had to have a pacemaker and he stoop up and said “ your fine have a nice day” and walked out. I was so completely confused that I called my cardiologist and let a message about my 3 minute meeting with the surgeon and what was said. To my surprise the surgeon called me back and rudely said “ was I not clear when I saw you? You are fine!” And he hung up on me.  I finally got a call from my cardiologist and he said he totally agrees with the surgeon. I hung up then and found a new doctor the same day. My first appointment with him he went through my loop recorder records for over a year and saw that I was having about 400 episodes a month. (With loop recorder they monitor for heart rate threshold and call if it goes above that) I never received any calls from them letting me know I was above the limit they set. Never once during a year of visits was told anything. So my new cardiologist setup Ablation for the following week at my first visit. 3 days after Ablation I was in the hospital because I was having chest pains and shortness of breath. Doctor sets up 2nd Ablation (with new cardiologist) a week later. About 2 weeks later I was admitted to hospital because my heart rate was almost 190 more than 20 times in that day. The fourth day in hospital they wake me to go for 3rd Ablation. During a follow up a 1 1/2 weeks later he says they fixed the heart defect and now I have a major issue they feel is in the lower chamber. I told him I am so tired of being tired, tired of sweating like I’m in a sauna while everyone else is freezing, tired of waking up exhausted, tired of blacking out from the high heart rates, just plain tired of my hart all together. I told him to just do the pacemaker already and he said he tries to do everything else and pacemaker is a last resort. Well 4 Ablations or 10 Ablations are not fixing anything. I practically begged him to do it. He said I’m too young to be wired to a pacemaker the rest of my life. What life??? I have no life except SVT 😭😭😭😭 the last 2 1/2 Years feel like an eternity but not in a good way😭😭😭😭
