Swab Test

hello,

I've posted on here before. I had non-consensual unprotected sex back in january. I've been negative on igm, igg, and western blot. I got a home swab test after 16 weeks ans tested negative as well. I had taken 500 mg of valtrex on and off for a couple weeks before the swab but not every day. I keep getting this small tiny reoccurring split in skin on my perineum which is why I am still so scared I have it. Has anyone been on antivirals and swab tested positive? Should I try to do another swab? I havent taken antivirals in weeks.

      I went to my doctor today. I just am not crazy about posting pictures on here.

      Unfortunately, yes, that is still a possibility. A swab test is only going to be positive if you have an active lesion, which it sounds like you could have right now. I had a second swab test done and antivirals and I still tested positive, as I was having a outbreak at that time as well.
