Sweating!?

Hi, does anybody else sweat profusely when they eat a hot meal or hot drink? I also have really bad night sweats but I know that is more common. I have never known anyone else sweat so bad when they eat or drink hot stuff though, not spicy, or even very hot, can just be a normal hot, even after leaving for a few minutes to cool slightly. The sweat literally drips from my forehead, into my eyes etc. it is so uncomfortable and extremely embarrassing if anyone was to see it. Luckily my boyfriend is used to it now. I even sweat loads when I am doing dishes. My clothes become saturated I could even wring them out. I could actually catch it in a dish its so bad!

Yes when I think about it, it feels like the perspiration is rising up my body and ending up making my head sweat! I suffered this during menopause, but am way past that now! Think it's just another weird symptom of fibro.

      Hi Anne,

I have a question for you with regards to the menopause. Did you have symptoms of the menopause before your periods became irregular?

Sorry it's such a personal question but I am wondering if the sweating is anything to do with menopause as my periods are still regular. When i asked Mum about sweating and menopause she told me that it was a whole body thing with her and that she started hers at 45.

You are probably right that it's just another weird symptom of Fibro, it's a weird and cruel thing to have and to learn to live with. xx

      Hello Pinkgin64,

No worries about it being personal, I am happy to talk about anything. To be honest I can't remember sweating before my periods started to become irregular, and that didn't hapen until I was well into my 50's. My periods didn't stop till I was 55, and the fibro symptoms startd at 56, so the sweating just overlapped. Ihave to say from what I remember the menopause caused hot flushes, and all over body sweating when I was in bed. Now it is just my head and scalp. Ooh I hope that makes sense and is helpful. Take care x

      Thanks Anne,

that's really helpful and makes sense to me.  Seems to me that it's more due to the fibro than the change from what you've said.

Sorry I've taken so long to reply but I've had constant migranous headaches for two weeks, the docs been out twice and is sending me for a brain scan soon. It's flared my fibro, I just hope it all calms down soon,

      Thanks again Anne,

      Gin
